Tora Clients and Participating Brokers can now Trade Electronically on Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange of India
Hong Kong, September 22, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) – Tora® www.stage.toratrading.tw, the leading electronic trading platform and liquidity provider for Asia, announced today that it has added DMA connectivity in the TORA® Compass™ trading platform to India’s two major stock exchanges, the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange of India. All Tora clients can now work with brokers connected to TORA Compass to electronically trade equities, futures, options, and derivatives in India using the platform.
“India is one of the most important equity markets in Asia, and indeed the world,” said Robert Dykes, Tora Trading Services CEO. “Adding connectivity to the major Indian markets is consistent with our mission of providing our clients with broad and deep access to Asian markets.”
Tora worked closely with sell-side broker Morgan Stanley India to deploy the FIX and DMA connections to the Indian exchanges – the first such connections ever deployed in India. Morgan Stanley provided Tora with in-country resources and assistance and has begun executing trades for Tora clients using these connections.
“We are delighted to offer electronic execution services to Tora’s clients trading India,” said Scott Field-Marsham, managing director and head of electronic trading for Asia at Morgan Stanley, Ltd., Hong Kong. “With the growth of the equity markets in India, it’s now crucial that our common buy side clients have the same access to India as they have to other major Asian markets.”
