Pascal Kuyten

What is the most interesting thing about working here, and about the work you do?
Asset management is changing, and smarter and more efficient tools are being created to achieve best execution. With TORA providing the clockwork between the investors on one side and the brokers on the other side, TORA is in the unique position to understand and streamline this process.
Our work at TORA will directly impact the virtual trade floor and cover cloud computing, real-time reporting, and machine learning. Our teams collaborate across our global offices, while at the same time maintaining a personal touch with our clients, vendors, and colleagues.
How has your job changed since you started working here?
Initially, I became responsible for our client-facing trading API and assistance with custom on-boarding integrations varying from Excel to Python applications. Now I mainly focus on best execution solutions, in particular TORA’s Algo Wheel and pre-trade broker-algorithm ranking using machine learning techniques.
What advice would you give a candidate who’s thinking to join TORA?
It took me time to understand the industry, clients and processes. If you have ability for problem solving and have an engineering background, you can learn the rest if you are interested in the financial industry.
